A Preset bundles everything EMCc needs to talk to a device: the reader record (protocol, model, manufacturer, delays), every Datum with its format, unit and read/write access, and an optional picture. Pick it in the Wizard, enter an address, choose your Datum, then add Formulas and alarms.
The library grows with every project. Overloaded Presets let you tweak a shipped one, and your copy survives software updates.
Plus EMCradio (Python), Remote EMC, and native protocol translation with no gateway hardware or middleware.
Inverters, meters and battery BMS, with Discovery for the ones without a Preset.
Bit-level frame mapping, from live probing or a CSV of byte.bit ranges.
Bring SNMP-speaking equipment in alongside the rest of the site.
Web APIs and text protocols, mapped straight to Datum.
Publishing and cloud access built in. No separate gateway.
Define protocols we don't ship: Transactions, Packets and Fields, in strict first-byte-to-last order. Comin soon in the next release.
Probe a live device on the network, paste a JSON or XML sample, or import the manufacturer's CSV map. The Discovery tools turn it into a new Preset with Datum definitions.
Taming a protocol with no map. Tip: start with a register whose value you already know, like the model or firmware version.
Probe the adapter for live frames, click the bytes or bits for one value, and one frame expands into many Datum. No live bus? Import a CSV.
Function codes 01–06, 0F and 10, slaves 0–255, and MBUS[ ] lets any Formula read or write the server's map.

MODBUS sends the most significant byte first. EMCc's Intel and ARM CPUs work in Little Endian, so every binary field gets remapped, and devices don't always agree on the order.
Seven standard Endians, from S0 Big to S6 MODBUS Float 32
Read a known, non-zero value in each. Only one will look right
Build your own in the Endian Manager
Applied per Datum, so one protocol definition serves every device
We'll connect to a working EMCc site over a secure VPN tunnel and show you Datum, Formulas, alarms and dashboards, edited live while the site keeps running.
